Went by the Big Rocks a few times during our stay in Glen Rose. It was a great place to spend a half hour between planned events. Our toddler loved climbing all over the rocks and really wanted to go into the water. There are some sections were there was broken glass, so we had to be careful with our little one.
Great park to let the kids or pets play in the water. Life jacks provided on loaner/honor system. The rocks are very large and would be fun for the older kids to burn off some energy. Could use a bathroom.
There's a long paved path along the river nearby that was also really neat. It started with a walk along the dam, which our toddler really liked too.
The rocks were very cool to look at and climb... But the parking lot was a little iffy. And the water did not look healthy enough to dip my foot in.
My husband worked at Comanche peak and while he was working me and my son was here. We loved it was able to walk through the water and the water was so refreshing!!!
This is a very nice place to relax and cool off the waters isn't deep enough to really worry I say the deepest part I found was about chest level , I visit every year for a family reunion over all I love this place.
